And make sure, you get lots of silly little pictures of you and your friends together.

Hugs!!!!
Friends may come and go in our life time, but the memories will last forever.

How do you open a shop for pottery and other art in a small town. And to have it give back to the community?

September 2nd, 2010

My family has been to several places to "do your own pottery/ ceramics" and they fire them for you. (In much larger cities) Our size is maybe 12,000 pop. My goal is to open something similar to this yet allow different classes to be taught also. Ex: painting, scrapbooking, batiking, sewing, sculpture, stainglass…any mediums people (children and teenagers also) would be intrested in. A place for all ages (allow kids to have b-day parties!) Also giving teens a place to hang & show their talents. Of course the art mind has no sense of the business mind. I clearly need advice on how this could be started and where to look for financing . It would be a great opportunity for this small town in TX w/nada. Allowing families and kids to do something unique. I have many ideas and themes found by talking to others. I feel that placing some of the profits with local and international charities would be a good way to give back. (Hab 4 Hum, YoungLife, Compassion I.) Just need a place to start.

wHEN MY WIFE AND i OPENED OUR SHOP,QUITE SOME TIME AGO, iT IS VERY DIFFICULT TO GET it GOING. Most people have no idea what they wanna make, and it usually boils down to a CUP with their name on it….don’t ask me why. You will need a lot of very simple things for people to start on or they will get discouraged and not come back. Have a sample of at least one, of everything in soft ware for them to see. You will need two or three kilns, different sizes. We used an old washing mashine to mix our slip. I have a set of Whiskey Decanters that were samples, and have been offered $200.00 for it.

Have you seen an infomercial that shows a paper cutter/metal engraving machine?

August 30th, 2010

My mother saw an infomercial the other day of this small cutter that cuts paper in many different shapes and sizes. She says that is also engraves into metal. The cutter is used mainly for scrapbooking.

If you can help, or have seen it, please let us know!

She may have seen an infomercial for the CraftRobo:

Where can I find a coil notebook about 4 inches by 5 inches with a solid thicker than normal blank front cover

August 29th, 2010

I want to be able to use scrapbooking paper and add pretty decorations to the cover. Then get the old date stamper and pad out and date stamp one day for every page. And use it for a datebook. I think it would look nicer than the stuffy high priced ones out there. I know you can get notebooks from Staples, Officemax, but I think I have seen some tan, thin almost MDF looking covers.

That sounds like a great idea. Here are some sites. Also check Mead office supplies, online.

Visiting Clifton New Jersey in September – what should I do while there?

August 28th, 2010

Staying in NY for 2 weeks but want to take trips elsewhere, planning on going to Clifton NJ (mainly for the scrapbooking stores!) and want to know what I should see and do while there for a day.

There really isn’t much in clifton itself.
A good place for a take-out lunch, if you like Polish food, is Polonia on Van Houten Ave.
Milano Restaurant, also on Van Houten Ave, is a nice spot for Italian food. Its a sit-down place.

You are about 30 – 40 minutes from Morristown where there are some historic things such as Washington’s Headquarters. You could try to find and view the Great Falls in Paterson.
Also in Paterson (but near Clifton & Montclair) is Lambert Castle:

http://www.lambertcastle.com/

In Montclair and West Orange is Eagle Rock Reservation. This offers a great view of the NY Skyline:

Hopefully this will give you a few ideas of things you can do in the clifton vicinity.

what are the effects of taking adderall with siraquil and saboxone?

August 27th, 2010

my wife was on all those meds and now is in jail for walking into peoples houses-she has been there for 4 months held without bond. She was on probation, and in broad daylight walked right pass people with a screwdriver in hand and pryed open a window in front of them, and when she came out the deputy was standing there. she is 40 years old and we’ve been married for 10 years and she was never in trouble a day in her life till the doctor had her on these meds-for severe a.d.d and one doctor told her she was manic. I think she is by-polar but would like to know if taking all those meds could trigger someone into this kind of behavior.she also was compulsive shopping, and would go two days at a time with no sleep, and just knit or scrapbook all night, then she would stay in bed for a day or so and blow off work-which she was her own boss-cleaning houses. she started losing customers by the day, and all this happened since taking the meds. I have fifteen boxes Full of scrapbooking suff.

You need two things: 1) One SINGLE doctor to manage her condition and medications. It sounds like you need to keep very close to her until you find stuff that works. and 2) a good lawyer that can get her out of jail and into hospital care. It sounds like it would be easy for even a mediocre lawyer.

What’s the best course of action when women in my office start acting, like, well, women?

August 24th, 2010

I’m referring to when they start passing around pictures of their children, and start talking about scrapbooking. There is also the obligatory discussion about shoes and American Idol. Sometimes on a good day, one of them will tell me about her gardening activities and the how she got a "Precious Moments" figurine for a good price.

Aside from quitting my job, how can I deal with this nonsense?

You think that’s bad? I have a man in my office that does that. Used to call his daughter every day to sing the Barney song to her.

What are fun babysitting activities to do with a four year old?

August 23rd, 2010

I babysit this girl whos four, a lot. About three days or four every week. At first we had a lot to do, but now I’m out of ideas. She loves scrapbooking, believe it or not, and painting, swimming, and playing with blocks. Also, I’m trying to think of fun things to do INDOORS since it’s very hot outdoors. We will go swimming outside though at the end of the day.

I don’t know if we can use the kitchen.

Read to her
If she loves painting try collages and play dough. You can find many ideas here:http://www.toddler-net.com/Games_art_crafts.html
Girl would probably like dancing and singing
Most kids love bubbles.
Outside try water guns or squirt bottles. Good when it’s hot!
Set up a tent from chairs and a blanket and play with her toys.
Did you try board games? My son at 4 loved chute and ladders and dominoes (the kids kind with picture in place of dots)
Puzzles
Try baking cookies! Or some other cooking. She might like it.
Good luck!
